Hymn becomes Hymn. Changing shape. Staying true to the spark.
Interview with Alexandre Henriques, Founder and CEO of Hymn
‍
You founded Hymn in 2017. What led you to it?
‍
Nearly twenty years in agencies, in Lausanne, Geneva and Brussels. I’ve seen small local comms agencies and big branding powerhouses. I started out as a graphic designer, grew into a creative director. I led projects, managed teams. At one point, I also walked alone. Every role taught me something. Every detour shaped me. Some encounters were pivotal—catalysts, guides. Hymn was born at the intersection of all that—the good experiences and the tougher ones.
‍
And what vision did you have in mind?
‍
To create a space for free thinking. A studio without power games, without unnecessary pressure. A space where we dare, where we listen, where we move forward together. A serious playground—but never a crushing one. I wanted Hymn to be a refuge. For ideas. For people. A place where you feel good enough to be fully yourself.
‍
You often say that Hymn doesn’t entirely belong to you. Why?
‍
Because from the start, I knew this project wouldn’t live through me alone. Hymn exists through the people who bring it to life every day. It’s their voices, their perspectives, their hands that shape it.
‍
And now, Hymn becomes a corporation. What does that change?
‍
It’s a natural evolution. A thoughtful decision. Yes, we’re changing form—but to stay true to the spark. This new structure allows us to open up ownership, to share what we’re building. In fact, the first two team members who believed in me are now stepping into leadership. That’s powerful. And right.
‍
A new chapter?
‍
Yes. A new page. But the drive remains unchanged: to make Hymn a place that connects, reveals, and radiates. A place that belongs to those who bring it to life.
